Three All-Conference Honors for Women's Soccer
Farmingdale, N.Y. - The 2008 Farmingdale State
Women’s Soccer team had three players receive All-Skyline
Conference honors this season, including one First Team and two
Second Team selections. Senior defender Kaitlin O’Brien (East
Islip, N.Y.) received First Team honors. Freshman midfielder
Brittany Williams (Massapequa, N.Y.) and freshman forward Katrina
Cerverizzo (Center Moriches, N.Y.) were both named to the
Second-Team.
O’Brien, a co-captain who has started 77 of her 78 career
games, is the teams’ defensive leader on a squad that only
allowed 1.67 goals per game. The team allowed just three goals in
regular season conference play. O’Brien also scored one goal
and recorded one assist this year.
Williams, the Skyline Tournament MVP, started all 18 of her games
played this season. She scored seven goals, including three
game-winners and finished second on the team in scoring.
Cerverizzo led the Rams in scoring with 14 goals and two assists
for a total of 30 points. She finished fourth in the conference in
scoring and had four game-winning goals. Cerverizzo set a school
record scoring five goals in a single game earlier this season.
