Shannon is a 2008 graduate of Patchogue-Medford High School, where she was an All-League soccer player and a Scholar Athlete. She also participated in Varsity gymnastics in 7th and 8th grade.

Freshman year...Member of the Skyline Championship team in 2008. Anchored the defense, which held opponents to 1.77 goals per game. Finished the year with two assists.

She is the daughter of Steve and Nadine Kalogeras.
