Magee Scores Four as Rams Defeat Purchase

Farmingdale, N.Y. - Junior forward Corine Magee (Mastic, N.Y.) scored four goals as the Rams defeated Purchase College, 5-0, this afternoon in Farmingdale, N.Y. The Rams improved to 8-1-2, 2-0 in the Skyline, while the Panthers dropped to 2-4 overall and 1-2 in conference play.

Magee opened the scoring with her first goal in the 23rd minute, putting Farmingdale State up 1-0. Magee then added goals in the 27th and 34th minute, which gave the Rams a 3-0 advantage. Junior midfielder Kasey Estelle (West Islip, N.Y.) netted the final goal of the first half with 3:49 remaining and Farmingdale State held a 4-0 lead at the break. The Rams outshot the Panthers 20-4 in the first half.

In the second half, Magee added her fourth and the games final goal in the 67th minute.

Sophomore goalkeeper Kristen Racaniello (Riverhead, N.Y.) made 10 saves in the loss for Purchase.

The Rams now travel to Scranton for a non-conference game on Saturday, October 1st at 7:00 p.m.
