Schenectady, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's soccer team traveled to Schenectady, N.Y. to face Sage, who was previously unbeaten in the Skyline, on Thursday evening. The Rams recorded a 1-0 victory and improved to 10-5-2 overall and 7-1 in conference play.
In a scoreless first half, Farmingdale State held an 11-5 shot and 3-1 corner kick advantage over the Gators (12-4, 7-1).
The game remained tied until sophomore forward Taylor Howard (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) scored the game-winning goal for the Rams with 5:01 left on the clock.
Over the final 5:01, FSC held Sage to only one shot attempt which was wide left. The Rams outshot the Gators 25-10 in the victory.
Farmingdale State, Sage and Mount Saint Mary now all have one Skyline Conference loss.
Freshman goalkeeper Karla Gomes (Carle Place, N.Y.) stopped seven shots in the win, while senior Nicole Maher (Glen Cove, N.Y.) recorded 11 saves for the Gators.
The Rams next will square off against Yeshiva in a road game on Friday at noon.
