Indianapolis, Ind. - The NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Committee announced today the field of 64 teams for the 2017 Division III Women's Soccer Championship.
Farmingdale State will face #9 Carnegie Mellon in the First Round of the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship on Saturday, November 11th. The First and Second Round games will be held at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Penn. on Saturday and Sunday.
The Rams (13-7-2) punched their ticket to the NCAA's by winning the Skyline Conference Championship for the 10th time in program history. Farmingdale State traveled to Mount Saint Mary and earned a 1-0 victory in the Skyline Finals. #9 Carnegie Mellon earned an at-large bid to the Tournament after finishing the regular season with a 13-2-2 record, including 5-1 in the University Athletic Association.
The other First Round game will feature Franklin College (14-4) versus Arcadia University (15-5). Franklin defeated Mount Saint Joseph, 2-0, in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Finals to claim an automatic bid, while Arcadia knocked off #1 Messiah in MAC Commonwealth Championship to earn an automatic bid into the NCAA Championship.
The game times for Saturday will be at 5:30 p.m. (Farmingdale State vs. Carnegie Mellon) and 8:00 p.m. (Franklin vs. Arcadia) with the winners squaring off in the Second Round on Sunday at 7:00 p.m.
