Farmingdale State - 5, Mount Saint Mary - 4

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's tennis team played host to Mount Saint Mary College in a Skyline Conference match on Wednesday night and earned a one-point victory, 5-4. The Rams improved to a perfect 2-0 in conference action and 8-2 overall, while the Knights dropped to 4-3, 1-1.

FSC claimed 2-of-3 points in doubles competition. In the #1 slot, the pairing of junior Kayla Reidy (Sayville, N.Y.) and freshman Rosa Lettieri (West Islip, N.Y.) earned an 8-4 win, while freshmen Nicole Tzanetos (Merrick, N.Y.) and Nicole Ferguson (Shirley, N.Y.) recorded an 8-3 victory in the second position. At third doubles, FSC's Celine Zollinger (Franklin Square, N.Y.) and Julia Marino (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) fell, 8-6, to MSMC's Sarah Canzone (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) and Katie Murray (Highland Hills, N.Y.).

In singles, Lettieri (6-1, 6-1), Tzanetos (6-0, 6-0) and Zollinger (6-0, 6-0) each earned victories in the second through fourth positions, respectively.

Farmingdale State now travels to Purchase College for a conference match later today at 5:00 p.m.
