2010-11 Women's Indoor Track Season Recap
Farmingdale, N.Y. - The women's indoor track team had two athletes qualify for the Division III National Championship. Sophomore's Faustine Chukwuezi and Corine Magee both earned All-American status for their performance at the nationals.
Chukwuezi placed fifth in the triple jump with a leap of 37' 8 ¾". Her jump was a season best and 1 ¾" off her school record which she set last year. Magee placed seventh in the 55m dash with a time of 7.28. Magee holds the school record in the 55m and 200m and she and Chukwuezi qualified for the nationals for the second straight year. At the NYU Team Challenge, Chukwuezi took first place in the triple jump and long jump, while Magee won the 200m (new school record) and the 60m. They joined Victoria Mandat and Katherine Hoskins to take first place in the 4x200m relay.
The women finished in sixth place at the CTC Championships. Magee again won the 55m and 200m breaking her own school record in that event, while Chukwuezi took first place in the triple jump. Magee finished third in the 55m dash and Chukwuezi fifth in the triple jump at the ECAC Championships held at the New Balance Track and Field Center. Magee and Chukwuezi were both named First Team All-CTC.
