Rams Compete at NYC Gotham Cup

New York, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's and women's indoor track teams competed at the NYC Gotham Cup held at the New Balance Track and Field Center on Friday, January 13th.

Junior Edward Brown IV (Bay Shore, N.Y.), with a toss of 16.60m (54' 5 1/2"), led the men's team with a fourth place finish out of 24 competitors in the weight throw. Junior Donnell Jones (Brooklyn, N.Y.) took sixth place in the long jump with a leap of 6.35m (20' 10"). Sean Tiernan (Staten Island, N.Y.), Eddie Lopez (Lynbrook, N.Y.), Russell Darress (Lynbrook, N.Y.) and William Frederic (Brooklyn, N.Y.) finished in sixth place in the 4x800m relay. 

Junior Victoria Mandat (West Babylon, N.Y.) improved her ECAC qualifying time by one second in the 60m hurdles as she took 24th place with a time of 9.43. Freshman Druscilla Dickson (Copiague, N.Y.) finished in seventh place out of 20 competitors in the triple jump with a leap of 10.58m (34' 8 1/2").

Farmingdale State next will compete in the St. John's Long Island Championship held on St. Anthony's High School on Friday, January 20th.
