Rams Compete with Top Schools in Nation at New Balance Collegiate Invitational

New York, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's and women's indoor track team competed at the 2012 New Balance Collegiate Invitational on Friday, February 3rd and Saturday, February 4th, running with the top Division I, II and III teams in the Nation. The Rams had two ECAC qualifying performances at the meet.

Freshman William Frederic (Brooklyn, N.Y.) ran 1:07.21 in the 500 Meters to qualify for the ECAC's on March 2nd and 3rd, which will be held at the New Balance Center. The women's 4x200 Relay team of Katherine Hoskins, Druscilla Dickson, Victoria Mandat and Kathleen Clermont ran an ECAC qualifying time of 1:49.27.

The Rams now have 9 men and 5 women qualified for the ECAC Championships, including the Relay teams.

Junior Edward Brown IV (Bay Shore, N.Y.) finished in 15th of 41 participants in the Weight Throw, with a toss of 56' 9 1/2" (17.31m). Sophomore Alix Lamarre (North Bellmore, N.Y.) placed 37th of 64 in the Long Jump, with a distance of 21' 6 1/4" (6.56m).

Farmingdale State will now compete at the Collegiate Track Conference (CTC) Championships on Saturday, February 11 at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Conn.
