Troy, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's volleyball team (21-16) defeated Polytechnic (22-8) 3-1 in the Skyline Conference Semifinals, but fell to Russell Sage (18-16) in the Championship game on Saturday night in Patchogue, N.Y. It was the Rams second straight trip to the Finals, but they fell 3-0 to the top-seeded Gators.

Both junior Cathryn McLean (Northport, N.Y./Northport) and senior Amanda Sperling (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) had 19 kills against Polytechnic in the Semifinal game. McLean also had seven solo blocks in the match. Sophomore Amanda Sieber (Commack, N.Y./Commack) had 13 kills and 12 digs. Senior setter Colleen Mackey (Merrick, N.Y./Calhoun) recorded a career-high 48 assists in the match.

In the Championship game against Russell Sage, Mackey had 24 assists. McLean posted 12 kills and four blocks, while Sieber had 11 kills.

The Rams will now await a possible ECAC Tournament bid.
