Staten Island, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's volleyball team traveled to The College of Staten Island this afternoon for a non-conference tri-match and swept both matches, 3-0.
In the first match against Delaware Valley (3-8), the Rams (11-7) captured the first set 25-13 and followed with 25-16 and 25-13 wins to close out the three set sweep of the Aggies.
FSC was led by junior setter Lauren Anne Strezenec (Merrick, N.Y.) who totaled a match-high 24 assists, along with four service aces and 11 digs. Sophomore middle blocker Kelsey Voiklis (Commack, N.Y.) and junior outside Annie Cosgrave (Brightwaters, N.Y.) each tallied nine kills for the Rams, while senior middle-blocker Maia Cadle-Hinton (Huntington, N.Y.) recorded nine kills and a game-leading two solo blocks.
In Farmingdale's second match of the day versus Staten Island (3-13), FSC produced a 25-13, 25-10, 25-12 card to cruise to the 3-0 sweep.
Strezenec recorded match-highs in both assists (25) and serving aces (7), while FSC sophomore setter Julia Hande (Islip, N.Y.) totaled 11 digs and five kills. Cadle-Hinton tallied three solo blocks, along with a game-high eight kills and Voiklis registered two solo blocks for Farmingdale State.
The Rams only allowed six Dolphins kills in the match.
Farmingdale State next hosts conference rival Old Westbury on Tuesday, October 10th at 6:00 p.m.
