Rams Defeat Medgar Evers; Earn First Win of Season

Farmingdale State - 3, Medgar Evers - 0 (25-8, 25-13, 25-14)

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's volleyball team hosted non-conference opponent Medgar Evers in their home opener this evening and earned a 3-0 shutout victory. The Rams used wins of 25-8, 25-13 and 25-14 to round out the sweep and capture their first victory of the season.

For Farmingdale State (1-4), senior outside Annie Cosgrave (Brightwaters, N.Y.) recorded game-highs in both kills (9) and digs (7) to go along with three service aces, while junior middle blocker Kelsey Voiklis (Commack, N.Y.) and freshman outside Kate Flamio (East Islip, N.Y.) each had five kills. Freshman setter Angie Yarrow (Absecon, N.J.) tallied a game-high 26 assists as well as a career-high eight aces. The Rams totaled 21 service aces in the victory.

FSC next will compete at the Wheaton (Mass.) Invitational on Friday, September 7th and Saturday, September 8th.
