NYU - 3, Farmingdale State - 0 (25-8, 25-19, 25-17)
Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's volleyball team hosted New York University for a non-conference match this evening and fell, 3-0. FSC dropped to 5-15, while the Violets improved to 13-6.
NYU opened with a 25-8 victory in the first set and used 25-19 and 25-17 wins in the second and third sets to complete the 3-0 sweep.
Senior outside Annie Cosgrave (Brightwaters, N.Y.) led the way for the Rams as she tallied a match-high eight kills to go along with four digs. Junior middle blocker Kelsey Voiklis (Commack, N.Y.) registered five kills, while freshman middle blocker Dalia Cleckley (Laurelton, N.Y.) added four kills. Freshman setter Angie Yarrow (Absecon, N.J.) produced 17 assists and freshman outside Kate Flamio (East Islip, N.Y.) finished with a match-high 10 digs.
Freshman outside Gretchen Kinkaid (Franklin Lakes, N.J.) recorded a team-high seven kills for the Violets, while freshman setter Stella Alverson (Buford, GA) tallied 16 assists and four digs. NYU had 13 different players record a kill in the victory.
Farmingdale State next travels to The College of Mount Saint Vincent for a Skyline Conference tri-match on Saturday, October 6th starting at 11:00 a.m. FSC will first square off with Mount Saint Vincent and follow with a match against Purchase.
