Women's Volleyball Drops Pair of Non-Conference Matches

Match1: Misericordia - 3, Farmingdale State - 0 (25-18, 25-15, 25-22)

Match 2: Eastern Connecticut State - 3, Farmingdale State - 0 (25-17, 25-15, 25-16)

Dallas, Penn. - The Farmingdale State women's volleyball team played two non-conference matches today against Misericordia and Eastern Connecticut State and fell in both, 3-0. FSC dropped straight sets to host school Misericordia, 25-18, 25-15, and 25-22 before losing to Eastern Connecticut, 25-17, 25-15, 25-16.

In the match versus Misericordia (17-9), the Rams (7-19) were led by freshman outside Kate Flamio (East Islip, N.Y.) who tallied eight kills and had three blocks. Junior middle blocker Kelsey Voiklis (Commack, N.Y.) recorded six kills and added a match-high five blocks, while freshman libero Kellianne Dempsey (Lake Grove, N.Y.) and senior outside Annie Cosgrave (Brightwaters, N.Y.) each pitched in with 13 digs.

Sophomore outside Sarah Pool (Dover, DE) had a match-high 11 kills, while freshman middle Jessica Oltman (Collegeville, Penn.) notched eight kills for Misericordia. Junior setter Karley May (Shohola, Penn.) had match-high's in both assists (34) and service aces (5) in the three-set victory.

Against Eastern Connecticut (15-5), Flamio recorded five kills and six digs, while four other Farmingdale State players had two kills apiece. For the Warriors, freshman middle Anna Barry (Andover, Conn.) and sophomore outside Abby Stern (Manchester, Conn.) totaled nine and eight kills, respectively.

FSC next will host Western Connecticut State in a non-conference match on Tuesday, October 16th at 7:00 p.m.
