Farmingdale State Drops Road Match at Baruch

Baruch - 3, Farmingdale State - 0 (26-24, 25-22, 25-21)

New York, N.Y. - The FSC women's volleyball team traveled to Baruch College for a non-conference match on Thursday night and lost, 3-0. 

After coming back from an eight-point deficit to win the first set, 26-24, the Bearcats (1-0) followed with 25-22 and 25-21 wins in the second and third sets, respectively, to round out the sweep.

Offensively, sophomore outside Rachel McCartin (Wantagh, N.Y.) led the Rams (2-1) with 10 kills, while senior middle blocker Kelsey Voiklis (Commack, N.Y.) had eight kills. Sophomore outside Kate Flamio (East Islip, N.Y.) tallied six kills, 16 digs and a game-high four service aces and junior middle blocker Alicja Zaborowska (Copiague, N.Y.) recorded seven kills in the loss.

Senior outside Anita Sengara (Vancouver, BC) paced Baruch with a game-high 16 kills, while junior outside Stella Chung (Staten Island, N.Y.) added seven kills to go along with 19 digs.

The Rams next will host a tri-match featuring Brooklyn and Ramapo. FSC will square off with Brooklyn at 10:00 a.m. and Ramapo at 2:00 p.m. The match between Brooklyn and Ramapo will start at noon.
