Rams Take 2nd Place at St. Joseph's College

Maruyama led Farmingdale State to a 2nd place finish at the St.
Joseph's College Invitational yesterday, in Middle Island,
N.Y. Maruyama made the turn at one-under par and shot three-over on
the back nine, finishing in 2nd place individually with a round of
74. Senior Jim McLaughlin, in his first match this season, shot a
five-over par 77, despite a double bogie seven on the par 5 18th
hole. Senior's Matt Livolsi (79) and Andrew Schwartz (80)
helped the Rams post a team total of 310.
Division I Manhattan College took the team title after posting
304. Manhattan was led by tournament medalist Matt Creamer, who
shot a two-under par 70 to defeat Maruyama by four strokes. St.
Joseph's Matt Ranum, P.J. LaPiana and Charlie Essig along
with Manhattan's Chris Critelli and McLaughlin from
Farmingdale each finished in a tie for 3rd place with rounds of 77.
This afternoon the Rams tee off at Hershey Country Club, site of
the 2010 NCAA Division III National Championship, to play in the
Elizabethtown Invitational.
