Maruyama Leads Rams to 3rd Place Finish at
Hershey

Hershey, Pa. - Senior Masa Maruyama (Yamanashi,
Japan/Sundai) finished in 6th place individually, after shooting
rounds of 75 and 74 at the Elizabethtown College Golf Invitational.
Farmingdale State finished in 3rd place, after posting scores of
307 and 309 for a team-total of 616. (2)Methodist University were
team champions with a two-day total of 584, finishing 29 shots
ahead of runner-up Washington and Lee University.
Sophomore Chris Arnold (Hauppauge, N.Y./Hauppague) finished in
11th place for the Rams with rounds of 76 and 80. Senior Jim
McLaughlin (Oceanside, N.Y./Oceanside) shot three-over par on the
opening round at Hershey Links, followed by an 83 on the East
Course to finish in a tie for 14th place.
Methodist's Josh Schrader (Pittsburgh, Pa./Chartiers Valley) was
the tournament medalist with a score of 146, finishing one stroke
ahead of teammate Trey Howell (Fayetville, N.C./Terry Sanford).
Liam Friedman (Lackawanna, N.Y./St. Farncis) and Josh Speight
(Gloucester Point, Va./Gloucester) of Methodist along with
Washington and Lee's Robert Wombell (Raleigh, N.C./Broughton) each
finished in a tie for 3rd place with a two-day total of five-over
par.
Tomorrow the Rams travel to Old Oaks Country Club for the
Purchase Skyline Invitational.
