NEW YORK |Â The Skyline Conference released its fall weekly reports on Monday afternoon, and two Farmingdale State College women's soccer student-athletes received awards for their play as the regular season winds down.
Women's Soccer (7-9-3, 6-2-2 Skyline)Â |Â Skyline Report
The Rams locked up a berth in the upcoming six-team Skyline Conference Women's Soccer Championship by going 1-0-1 in conference play, tying Skyline-unbeaten U.S. Merchant Marine Academy on Wednesday, 0-0, before capturing a 3-1 victory over Manhattanville on Saturday.
Seniors
Alyse Rivera (Manhattan, N.Y.) and
Hailey Stork (Bellmore, N.Y.) earned the Skyline's Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week awards, respectively, for the second time this season. Rivera's two-goal, one-assist afternoon on the weekend versus the Valiants gave her a 10-goal season for the fourth time in as many seasons, while Stork registered a .900 save percentage across her 135 minutes of play.
FSC wraps up regular-season play Wednesday night at 7 at Skyline foe Maritime College, before the Skyline Championship begins with first-round play on Saturday. Seeds, pairings and match times will be announced following the conclusion of Wednesday night's matches.
Cross Country
The Rams rounded out their season at Sunday's Skyline Conference Championships, with the men's and women's teams placing third (76 pts.) and fourth (139 pts.), respectively.
Junior men's runner
Gabriel Aguilar (Levittown, N.Y.) and freshman women's competitor
Amelia Vitale (Hauppauge, N.Y.) both received first-team All-Skyline Conference kudos for their performances at the meet. Aguilar repeated as a first-team selection with a sixth-place time of 27:21.4 on the 8,000-meter course, while Vitale's 25:25.4 time in the 6,000-meter event was good for fifth place.
Women's Tennis (10-5, 7-0Â Skyline)
Farmingdale State earned a 4-0 victory in the Skyline Conference semifinals Wednesday against Yeshiva, before falling in Saturday's championship final to Manhattanville, 4-2, to conclude their fall season.
Volleyball (13-8, 5-3 Skyline)Â |Â Skyline Report
The Rams went 1-1 at home last week, defeating Skyline opponent Mount Saint Vincent in a three-set sweep on Wednesday, and dropping a four-set, Senior Night match to non-conference foe Baruch College.
Farmingdale State plays two Skyline road matches this week, including Thursday's 7 p.m. start at Maritime College and Saturday's 1 p.m. first serve at St. Joseph's-Brooklyn.
Men's Soccer (4-8-4, 3-3-4 Skyline)Â |Â Skyline Report
FSC suffered a pair of one-goal defeats, falling to the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy midweek, 1-0, and then 2-1 at home Saturday versus defending champion Manhattanville University.
The Rams will play host to Maritime College on Senior Night, Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. to round out the regular season. A win on Wednesday secures FSC's spot in the upcoming six-team Skyline Conference Men's Soccer Championship, which gets underway with first-round action on Saturday.Â
Men's Basketball
FSC is back on the hardwood next Monday, November 3, when it plays in an exhibition game at 6:31 p.m. at Division I foe Stony Brook University. The team's first regular-season contest will take place Nov. 11 at New Jersey City University at 7 p.m.
Women's Basketball
The Rams will open their regular season schedule next Saturday (Nov. 8) with a noontime home game versus City College of New York.
