Box Score Rams Cruise to Victory over Penn State-Abington
Farmingdale State - 27, Penn-State Abington - 1
Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's lacrosse
team defeated non-conference opponent Penn State-Abington, 27-1,
this afternoon in Farmingdale, N.Y. The Rams improved to 8-3 with
today's victory and the Nittany Lions fell to 0-8 with the loss.
Farmingdale State took control of the game right from the start,
scoring 11 goals in the first period. The Rams added five goals in
the second and took a 16-0 lead into halftime. Farmingdale State
outscored the Nittany Lions 11-1 in the second half and went on for
the 27-1 victory.
Sophomore attack Bill McGarvey (Sayville, N.Y./Sayville) scored
a team-high five goals and added one assist for the Rams. Senior
attack Sean Maxwell (West Babylon, N.Y./West Babylon) had three
goals and four assists, while freshman midfielder Mike O'Brien
(Garden City, N.Y./The Canterbury School) scored three as well.
Junior attack Wes Hubschmitt (Seaford, N.Y./Seaford) pitched in
scoring two goals and recorded a game-high seven assists. The Rams
were 29-of-32 on faceoffs.
Sophomore goalkeeper Patrick Delventhal (Westbury, N.Y./Holy
Trinity) had four saves in the win, while goalies Ron Rossi
(Levittown, Penn./Harry S. Truman) and Dominic Colarusso (Newtown,
Penn./Council Rock North) combined for 12 saves in the defeat for
Penn State-Abington.
Farmingdale State will host Mount Saint Vincent in a Skyline
Conference game on Tuesday, April 6th at 4:00 p.m.
